Judge Agrees With Sempra�s Energy Deal Long-Term Contract With State Will Stand for Now Sempra Energy won a decisive court battle with the state over its nearly $7 billion long-term power pact. A San Diego Superior Court judge sided with the local energy merchant, saying the company did not need to fire up a new power plant to fulfill the deal and did not act fraudulently during initial contract talks. Hotel Parisi Is an �Urban Retreat� In La Jolla When Mary Ellen Hamor, the new director of sales and marketing for the Hotel Parisi, returned from a recent trade show in New York, she brought with her a small but significant piece of business. �Trade shows are usually about relationship-building and you earn business over time,� Hamor said. �But one of the agents at the show had a client who was coming to La Jolla. « Full Story » |

Officials Forecast a Bright Season for Tourism Much like a retailer at Christmastime, Jeff Kinney leans heavily on the summer tourist season to boost the annual bottom line of his Surf Club Surf Shop in Pacific Beach. In a good year, Kinney has made as much as 40 percent of his annual revenue between June and September. Some years, it�s less. A lot depends on the weather. �If it�s good, sales are good,� said Kinney, who has owned the Garnet Avenue shop since 1980. �If the weather�s bad, sales are bad � but we�ve never had a summer when we lost money.� Weather notwithstanding, tourism experts predict the summer season, which officially kicked off with the extended Memorial Day weekend, will be at least as good as last year, and possibly better. « Full Story » |

Color: Complete separations for newprint on cold web offset, 100-133 line screen, must be furnished 7 days before issue date. Color proofs are required to accompany all color ad materials. Right read emulsion side down film negatives. Process match may be used for spot color ads. Electronic Specifications: Ads on disk are preferred if they comply with the requirements: QuarkXPress 4.0 for PC computers; disk must include all graphics and fonts used in the ad. 100MB Zip Drive and CD-ROM available.
